FAQs

How long is the rope?

The Motowinch comes standard with 500 feet of 7/64" high strength dyneema line. The line is extremely tough and slides easily through water snow, over rocks, and around trees.

How long will the battery last?

A fully charged battery will give the rider at least 10,000 feet of pull(20 full-length runs) on a full charge. Our tests are based on a 250 pound rider starting in deep water, using the full 500 foot line length at full speed and full power.

How does the winch attach?

The most common way of mounting the winch is to a tree, large rock, car tire, or pole. There are several, mounting points on the outside of the winch for attaching straps, webbing, and hooks. Here is a quick video detailing how we typically strap the winch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMwbBVmbeS4

Do we sell spare parts or accessories?

How waterproof is the system?

The Smart Handle features an IP67 rating, allowing it to be safely submerged in up to 3 feet of water for approximately 30 minutes. If it is used in salt water, it should be rinsed with fresh water afterwards. On the other hand, the eBox and Winch have an IP65 rating, making them splash and rainproof; however, they should not be submerged, as doing so will void the warranty. While the handle can be submerged during use, the eBox and Winch are designed to withstand light rain and ocean spray but should not face prolonged or intense water exposure.

How does the wifi system work?

To ensure optimal performance of our patented WiFi system, which sends signals between the eBox and handle, adhere to this guideline: for every 100 feet the rider moves away, the antenna should be raised an additional foot above the ground. For instance, if a rider is 400 feet away, the antenna should be 4 feet high. This setup ensures the handle and eBox maintain a clear line of sight, allowing for instant throttle response without reception issues up to 1,200 feet under ideal conditions. The handle's throttle gives the rider complete control over the speed and power of the pull, ensuring a responsive and enjoyable experience.

How fast can I go with the winch?

Motowinch has a maximum speed of 35 mph. This will vary depending upon rider weight, riding surface, and what the rider is attached to.

Are there different power modes?

Yes. The ebox has a 3 position mode switch that will change the speed and power. The O position is LOW, the I position is MID, and the II position is HIGH. We recommend every rider, regardless of weight or skill, start in the O position to get comfortable with the power and speed of the winch. MID and HIGH settings give the rider more top speed and available torque compared to the LOW setting.

How do I charge the batteries?

The Motowinch comes with included chargers for the ebox and handle. Please use the included charger and charging bricks only.
